Caviar is the BEST brain food

Its just sad that they taste a lil funny.

The actual health benefits that come with eating caviar are well worth the terrible taste. Let me give a bit of history and theory before we move on to the nutrition profile.

It is theorized that fish and other marine life greatly contributed to the development of the human brain. Throughout history humans settled along rivers and shorelines for water access. From infancy up until the age of 5-6 the brain develops its size and structure. What is it made of? Fats, like animal fats, plant and seed oils. The fats that are possibly the most important to development and maintenance are Omega-3 fatty acids.

Circling back a bit, when human settled along those rivers and shore lines they had direct access to food sources high in those same fatty acids. Consistent access to the nutrients that fuel a healthy brain, allowed humans to grow bigger, denser brains subsequently making us smarter. So thank the fish and the fish eggs that our ancestors ate that allowed them to thrive!

The two main fatty acids that kept our brains healthy are DHA and EPA. There are a few different kinds of caviar but, all of them contain high amounts of EPA and DHA. Both Red Caviar (Salmon Roe) and Black Caviar contains about 1,000 mgs (combined) of DHA and EPA per serving

Both forms of Caviar contain a molecule called choline. Choline(Acetylcholine) is one of the chief neurotransmitters of the nervous system, when this molecule is abundant in the brain we have better neuroplasticty and synaptic transmission.

Last but not least, both forms of Caviar are abundant in B12. B12 is needed to form red blood cells but its role in nerve function is interesting. B12 helps to coat the myelin sheaths of our nerves if they need repair, it can also help to thicken the myelin sheaths as well. This is important because thicker healthier myelin sheaths help to transmit nerve signals that much faster.
